When it comes to Australia’s native fauna, the white ibis comes high on the list of the country’s most iconic. And we’ve got plenty of them in Brisbane — even more thanks to Ryan Forster (aka Sethius Art)’s iconic Bin Chicken Trail. First, it was tiny doors, and then these metal bin chickens started popping up around town (mostly local businesses), themed to fit their enviroment.
As it states on Sethius Art’s website, “[the Binny] helps to bring eyes to their business and feet in their door. But moreover it’s a bit of fun, gives people a laugh and makes Brisbane more interesting.”
Most of the Binnies are unique to the business they’ve been placed at, including a bin chicken holding a XXXX beer can, another covered in tattoos, two about to go into battle with swords, and more. Check out some of the coolest ones, including his most recent one, below!
Bunnings Binny
The newest addition to the binny family, this adorable guy is holding a snag in bread as an homage to the reopening of Bunnings Oxley.
Forster put the call out to the public on his Instagram to encourage the business to go for it, and the internet immediately got behind him, tagging Bunnings to give this binny a home.
The store gave him a cosy spot in the car park, so it’s also easy for binny lovers to take a photo with him, maybe even with their own snag!

These are just some of the most prominent Binnies, as there are around 40 scattered from Caboolture all the way down to the Gold Coast!
You can see an updated map on the Sethius Art website and can even commission one of your own!
This would be the right way to go about it if you wanted one for your home or business, as sadly people have stolen some of the public Binnies, most recently, one holding a bucket of popcorn that used to call Dendy Cinemas home.
Forster hopes, in the near future, to make a Big Binny, which would surely be a proud addition to Australia’s beloved Big Things!
Did someone say Olympics mascot?
