Jacaranda season is one of the best times of the year in our Sunshine State, and there are plenty of places to go and bask in these lilac blooms. But if you’re looking for the perfect combination of nature and small-town charm, you can’t go wrong with Goombungee’s Jacaranda Day!
This inviting street party that has been wowing locals and visitors alike for over 30 years, and it’s the perfect spring weekend escape, only a 2-hour drive from Brisbane!
The town’s hardworking Historical Society has been hard at work once again, itching to delight attendees with over 60 stalls, selling handmade crafts, fashion and lifestyle items, delicious street food from a variety of vendors selling everything from snags to ice cream, live music and even a kite workshop.

Besides the picturesque appeal of Goombungee, what sets them apart is their much-loved vintage car parade, featuring restored vehicles, from trucks and tractors to bikes and everything in between and, of course, walking groups from the community of all ages and in different costumes, strolling under the lilac blossoms.
This year’s program is bigger and fuller than ever, starting with the workshops, markets, and rides, plus Animal Instincts Activities for a gold coin donation, including horse and pony cart rides. You can expect plenty of stunning performances by local bands, choir and dance groups, and even a LEGO and Barbie exhibition!
It all comes to a majestic end with the incredible closing parade, which is not to be missed!
