The beloved Moonlight Cinema is back in Brisbane for another summer season. Brush off your picnic blankets, breathe in the balmy night air, and look forward to box office blockbusters and family favourites. This outdoor cinema event has been playing in Brisbane’s Roma Street Parkland from Wednesday, November 26 and will delight audiences until Sunday, February 15.

30th Birthday Celebrations
Moonlight Cinema first opened with a screening of Pulp Fiction in 1995, and since then, over 5 million people around the country have taken part in this summer tradition. To celebrate this incredible milestone, audiences are invited to vote for their nostalgic film favourites, and the top titles will be screened as part of The People’s Program from January to March.
Everyone who votes will receive a 30% discount to General Admission tickets to The People’s Program sessions, as well as entry into the draw to win a Double Season Pass and other prizes. Voting is open until December 15.
Holiday program
Enjoy two weeks of beloved ‘Christmas Favourites’ in the lead up to Christmas, from December 9 to December 23 with classics such as Home Alone, Love Actually and Elf playing on several different dates.
If you’re more of a Grinch, don’t worry, there’s plenty of other hits and new releases to enjoy like Bugonia, Eternity and Wicked: For Good coming to the big outdoor screen.

January program
The outdoor cinema has now released its January program, with a blockbuster line-up perfect for beating the post-holidays blues! Brisbane can look forward to new releases, family favourites and must-sees.
You’ll be able to catch big summer titles like Wicked: For Good, Zootopia 2 and Anaconda, leading the January program, alongside preview screenings of upcoming films including Song Sung Blue, Hamnet and global phenomenon Six the Musical.
Plus, now that almost 6,500 movie lovers have already had their say, early results of the voting for The People’s Program place Shrek at number one in every city and chosen by more than one third of all respondents. Get ready to party in the swamp!
Other big players in the race include The Greatest Showman in the runner-up position nationwide, and Dirty Dancing and Jurassic Park not far behind in Brisbane. Don’t forget to have your say before voting closes!

What else can you look forward to?
Each Moonlight Cinema location will have their own kitchens, bars, on-site activations and bean bags. Look forward to things like:
- Singapore Airlines Gold Grass – Get great views and waiter service, with food and drink delivered straight to your bean bag.
- Connoisseur Lounge – Love ice cream? This option is for you. Receive a Connoisseur Gourmet Ice Cream stick and settle in to a bean bag in a reserved area.
- Delicious eats from popcorn to tacos, and cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks to sip on.

How should I prepare?
If you’re not hiring a bean bag, you’re welcome to pack your own picnic rug and sprawl out across the lawn for a perfect night at the movies. Avoid any pesky bugs by wearing insect repellent, and bring a blanket or wear layers to keep you warm.
This is a dog-friendly experience, so you’re welcome to bring your pooch for company as long as they’re well-behaved.
