NRL fans will have the ultimate place to watch the Broncos win the premiership again when a new state-of-the-art bar with an IMAX screen opens in Caxton Street!
Basking in the afterglow of its strongest ever ratings — 4.46 million fans tuned in to watch Brisbane’s epic triumph over Melbourne — the NRL has never been in a better position to launch the experience in the Suncorp Stadium precinct, the entertainment epicentre of Australian sport. The ARL Commission’s Beetson Hotel will undergo a full revamp in anticipation of the rugby league’s 2026 kick off in Las Vegas, in the hopes of having the IMAX experience ready to go ahead of next season.
The news comes at a time when Broncos fans are on a high, having won the first premiership in 19 years and are surely eager to see more of their favourite team, preferably on a gigantic screen. Suncorp Stadium is also set to be upgraded from its current capacity of 52,500 to 60,000 ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games.
Touted as the next best thing to seeing a game live, the IMAX experience is planned as a contemporary sports bar, with wall-to-wall screens, immersive sound, and a live game-day atmosphere, it will show all the best and most important sporting events from around the world, from Magic Round, State of Origin and the finals series to Pacific Championships and the World Cup next year.
Although not officially named yet, the venue is expected to be the biggest sports bar in Queensland, and the place to be for any and all sports lovers! The aesthetic, drinks and menu will likewise be sports and rugby-inspired.
We may not be able to make it to see the opener live in Las Vegas next year, but who needs Las Vegas when you have BrisVegas?
We’ll keep you updated as more information on the project comes out!
