Plied and Prejudice, a hilarious depiction of Jane Austen’s classic novel, has been delighting Brisbane audiences for the past few months. But, all good things must come to an end, and Plied and Prejudice will make its final bow on October 6, 2024. Putting the beloved characters from Pride and Prejudice in a new modern setting, this adults-only production will have you giggling away to yourself as chaos ensues. Don’t miss this wacky retelling of Elizabeth Bennet and Mister Darcy’s tale before it leaves town, grab your tickets soon!
Brought to the stage by the same creators of the scandalous “A Very Naughty Christmas”, and taking place at The Shed in Northshore, Plied and Prejudice is not your ordinary theatre performance. The 80-minute show consists of five actors scrambling to play twenty different characters. If this isn’t daunting enough, they will also have to try and keep the show together after one actor consumes five shots of liquor and does their best to derail the performance. With a different actor getting drunk every night, no two performances will be the same!
Grab a drink from the venue’s bar, and get ready to be coerced into a world of terrible proposals, weird flirty cousins, and four sisters who just want to find “the one”! This is Jane Austen’s work like you’ve never seen before. Whether you’re a man of good fortune, a woman in want of a husband, or a 27-year-old with no money and no prospects, this is the show for you.
Tickets for Plied and Prejudice start at $59, and you will be able to select your seats at checkout. Audience members should be over 18 and have a valid ID to gain entry, so unfortunately you’ll have to leave the little ones at home. Make sure to get your tickets soon for this tipsy rendition of an Austen classic, because it’s only sticking around for a couple more weeks.
