Calling all green thumbs! The Queensland Garden Show, a three-day gardening extravaganza is growing nearer!
Started over 40 years ago by the Sunshine Coast Branch of Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland Limited, the very first event was a one-day affair, featuring 30 stallholders, 300 visitors, 5 workshops, and a Plant Clinic.
That’s already impressive for a new event, but its momentum and reach has only grown since then. Nowadays, the Show gets over 25,000 visitors, who get to explore more than 360 stallholders!

What to expect
Hosted in the charming Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Nambour, the show features a diverse array of stallholders, numerous nurseries, and a lineup of gardening experts eager to share their wisdom.
Seeking gardening advice or simply some inspiration? The show will hold 70+ live talks across four dynamic stages with gardening experts, for all the greenest thumbs out there. The Plant Clinic is an aspect of the OG event that is still going strong, so bring any and all of your plant problems, and finally get some guidance!
There’s also a pre-loved book nook, for those who are textual learners, or who are simply looking for a new-to-them horticultural volume to peruse, with everything from practical guides, to gorgeous design inspo.

Speaking of the aesthetic side of gardening, you can’t miss the Floral Design Display & Competition, where each year, talented entrants are given a theme and asked to create amazing works of art. The participants will compete the day before the Show opens, and there will be a variety of these incredible arrangements of flowers on display in the Main Pavilion!
For those who love to cook, we recommend making your way to The Cook’s Garden stage for invaluable tips on growing your own produce and transforming it into gourmet delights! Discover the ‘GROW Kitchen Garden,’ a fully planted sustainable garden created on-site, where you can learn how to start your own vegetable patch.
Of course, the stars of the show are the plants: over 60,000 of them on sale each day from 55 major nurseries and other vendors! From beloved classics to rare and exotic plant species, you’re sure to find your best in bloom no matter what that looks like.
There will also be kids activities for young green thumbs, as well as food courts and entertainment, so the whole family can enjoy!
