A new comedy based on the Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice, has opened at The Shed in Northshore. Brought to the stage by the same creators of the scandalous “A Very Naughty Christmas”, Plied and Prejudice is not your ordinary theatre performance. This adults-only production will have you in hysterics as misunderstandings and pandemonium ensue. If you’re still unsure whether this is the show for you, here are 5 reasons why tickets to Plied and Prejudice is money well spent.
1. Enjoy a new spin on a classic story
The production tells the beloved story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mister Darcy, with a few surprises thrown in. See Jane Austen’s classic novel retold with modern twists, and a lot more drinking than is advised.
2. Laugh out loud
Regency England has never been this fun! Audience members can look forward to hilarious moments, as the cast’s antics keep you on the edge of your seat. See 1812 come to life with some distinctly unrefined behaviour and enough cuss words to send Mrs Bennet into absolute despair.
3. Experience a live theater performance
Try to keep your wits about you as five actors scramble to play twenty characters in 80 minutes. With so much happening on stage, what could possibly go right? Enjoy all the fun and chaos that comes with a live performance as you never know what is going to happen next.
4. No two shows will be the same
Each night a different actor will take 5 shots of liquor and try their best to derail the performance. With everything happening live on stage, you’ll get a different version of debauchery with every performance.
5. It’s a great night out with friends
This adults-only production is the perfect night out with friends. Grab a drink from the venue’s bar, and get ready to be coerced into a world of terrible proposals, overbearing mothers, and dashing suitors of considerable fortune!
