The cultures, flair and passion of six continents will be on show this October when Regional Flavours Global Fiesta takes over South Bank Parklands. The epic feast will be a multicultural celebration complete with roving performances, a street party, market stalls and, of course, cooking demonstrations.
Among the entertainment offerings, there will be a Brazilian dance troupe shaking their thang, salsa classes so you can too, a Mexican Mariachi band as well as a multi-instrumentalist Irish assembly. And don’t forget the Japanese drumming sessions as well, which are sure to make a huge bang.
But in terms of food, which is the real drawcard of the event, Global Fiesta will be stacked and packed with flavours from across the world, from the Mediterranean to the Pacific and everywhere else in between. South Bank’s eateries will be in full force too and the Fiesta Bar will be stocked up with wines from abroad as well as home-brewed beers. And don’t forget about the interactive spice walk through the Epicurious Garden with either a horticulturalist or a couple of Latin American chefs.
For those looking to pick up some new skills or tips in the kitchen, a number of esteemed chefs, including Louis Tikaram, Josh Lopez, Peter Kuruvita and Aunty Dale Chapman, will be creating famed dishes using ingredients and produce picked up within 250kms of Brisbane. The same goes for the marketplace.
The Global Fiesta takes place from 21-22 August 16 and 17 October with timed sessions on Saturday and Sunday. General admission tickets cost just $10.75 per person.

The following Regional Flavours event will be Providore Park.
