While each Candlelight Concert is different, you can always look forward to a beautiful venue, professional musicians and of course thousands of glittering candles. If you’ve got your tickets (or thinking of getting them) but are still unsure about what to expect, then here are 8 things to know before attending a Candlelight Concert!
1. Every venue is unique
From the City Hall to Cathedrals, Candlelight Concerts are always held in iconic venues around the city. None of the venues are chosen at random, and a big part of the candlelight experience is the incredible places they are held in. Whether they are architectural gems, city landmarks, or of historical significance, you know that when you go to a Candlelight Concert, you’re stepping into a breathtaking space.
2. Dress to impress (yourself )
There’s no specific dress code for Candlelights, but we all know that when we look good we feel good! That might mean your best Taylor Swift-inspired glam for A Tribute to Taylor Swift or some 70’s chic for A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac. Whatever you decide to wear we hope it’s not highly flammable (just kidding, the candles are LED).
3. Endless LED Candles
People are often concerned about the fire hazard of thousands of flickering candles, but don’t stress, they’re LED! Candlelight takes the safety of their guests very seriously, and no one would be having a good time with open flames all around them. The end result is still just as magnificent, and every venue has an added layer of enchantment thanks to the beautiful flickering lights.
4. Talented musicians will engage with you throughout the concert
Candlelight Concerts handpick professional musicians for every performance, ensuring that audiences have the best possible experience. What makes the performance even more memorable is the interaction you receive from the musicians. You’ll be able to learn more about the music, the artist whose work is being performed, and sometimes you even get treated to jokes and funny anecdotes.
5. Front-row seats are worth it
Although all the seats have a great view of the stage, there is something extra special about the front row. So why not give yourself the treat you deserve and experience Candlelight and its musicians up close. You’ll be able to see the passion in the performers’ faces, witness the energy exchange between them and their audience, and become a part of the living, breathing tapestry of sound that fills the room.
6. The later the show the better
It might seem obvious, but the darker it is the better, to really get the most of the Candlelight Experience. This is why we always recommend attending concerts as late as possible, especially in summer when the days are longer. Seeing the golden light of the candles stand out in a darkened space is truly a sight to behold!
7. You’ll experience real live music
At Candlelight, you’ll always be witnessing real time live music. There are no safety nets of pre-production or artificial samples; instead, you are invited to witness the genuine and unaltered talents of musicians who pour their heart and soul into each note. Wether they are playing the music of classical greats or original pieces, you know you will always be getting a top-quality performance.
8. You can make your memories last with an instant picture
It’s always great to be able to take home a souvenir to remember an incredible experience. A photograph of you and your loved ones in an enchanting venue is the perfect piece of memorabilia. Just add “Snapshot by Candlelight” to your cart when you go to buy your tickets and cherish this memory forever!
