The perfect spring school holiday plan just dropped! For the 9th year, THRIVE Festival is coming to Toowoomba, transforming it into an intergalactic playground of acrobatics, science, storytelling, circus and creative fun.
The packed program features Gold Coast-based ARC Circus prominently, as they’ll be presenting their acrobatic spectacular Into Space, as well as as well as stunning First Nations contemporary ance and circus performance Living Sculptures: How The Birds Got Their Colours, and hosting fun Out of this World Circus Workshops for kids of all ages!

There are even more hands-on activities for kids to try with School of Magic giving them a rare chance to learn amazing skills and tricks from some of the country’s best illusionists, and The Hunt for The Empire, part children’s tour, part ultimate adventure!
Once you’re feeling ready to sit down, Shake & Stir Theatre Co’s adaptation of My Two Blankets, based on the children’s book by Toowoomba author, Irena Kobald, will be lighting up the stage, and First Five Forever’s reading of Scott Stuart’s heartwarming tale, Alone with accompaniment by Toowoomba Concert Orchestra, will be touching for the whole family.
And the Cosmodome Planetarium will take the whole family on an immersive full-dome cinematic journey through space, with screenings exploring the Solar System, humanity’s quest to reach Mars and the extraordinary story of the Apollo Moon missions.

Families can even finish the week with free evening stargazing on Friday night, with telescopes offering views of the Moon and Saturn, weather permitting.
And there’s plenty happening for families who want to keep things free, with galaxy painting, face painting, lawn games, scavenger hunts, storytime, interactive science displays, craft activities, fairy bread and rainbow fruit, plus the spectacular Thriving Galaxy community installation created by hundreds of local students!
