What if the whole city was an arts festival? Discover all of Brissy’s nooks and crannies through almost 300 live performances thanks to Anywhere Festival!
This unique, homegrown festival turns the city — and we do mean the whole city, with everything from warehouses, libraries, distilleries, the Planetariym and even an electricity substation hosting unforgettable performances — into a celebration of all things music, dance, theatre, and comedy.

What to expect
With nearly 300 shows to see, you’ll be spoilt for choice, and may even suffer decision paralysis, so here are some of this year’s highlights:
Fittingly, May 4 (aka Star Wars Day), will see Bald Hills Uniting Church Hall hosting Bard Wars Chapter The Fifth: The Empire Striketh Back. This original, side-splitting Shakespear and Star Wars mash-up from The Artful Dodgers will have you rolling!
KMak will transport you with stirring, electrifying soundscapes through the cosmos at Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, after an incredibly successful Edinburgh Fringe Festival run.
For comedy commentary on current events, something like We Could Be Viral, a participatory show all about the attention economy, or The Bloke Agenda, an incisive stand-up set that delves into the manosphere, might be what you’re looking for.
Musical lovers can’t miss What The Perimenopause?!, a riotous, hormone‑fuelled musical where hot flashes meet hot riffs, all about celebrating and finding the humour in womanhood.
This is just a small taste of the huge variety of shows you’ll be able to catch over the course of the festival, with something for everyone, at budget-friendly prices!
