2. Lose yourself in colour at un/conscious
From February 1 until mid-March, you’ll have the chance to explore Jamie-Lee Garner’s whimsical, riotous world through her unique form of upcycled textile artwork — affectionately known as Fluffies — at Metro Arts.
On opening night you’ll even get to listen to the NSW-born artist talk about her interdisciplinary work and her aim in creating un/conscious: “Each piece of fabric is embedded with the memories of previous owners, nostalgic and echoing the childhood of those who remember the towels from grandma’s home […] The act of creating this work is an effort to transform the accumulative memories of the textiles into a new work of beauty.”
