Australia’s largest LEGO collection, worth around $250,000 and made up of 2,000 sets, is up for grabs!
Millions of individual pieces, dedicated hunting and one woman’s burning passion: This is what it takes to build a veritable brick empire across 50 years. A Brisbane woman amassed the impressive collection over a large chunk of her life, as collecting them went from therapeutic to passionate hobby.
The collection, which may be the largest one offered by a single vendor in the world, according to Rachael McCann from Lloyd’s Auctions, is made up of some rare pieces that could go for tens of thousands of dollars, such as a rare original Star Wars UCS Star Destroyer. In fact, two thirds of the collection are rare or retired sets, with most of them in sealed and in mint condition.
It also includes popular LEGO kits, like Harry Potter, Marvel, The Simpsons, and Disney, as well as some more… “adult” sets like the Colosseum, the White House, and a typewriter.

As Lloyds Auctions COO Lee Hames said to 7News, “This is the largest single Lego collection we’ve ever brought to auction.
“The sheer scale is remarkable but what really sets it apart is the concentration of sealed, retired and highly sought‑after sets. You simply don’t see collections of this calibre come to market.
“With Lego now firmly established as a serious collectable category, demand for quality retired sets has never been stronger.”
Indeed, thanks to the decades-long span of the collection, some sets that may not have had much value initially will have gone up in price significantly over the years.
Dying to get your hands on it? The collection will be sold across six unreserved online auctions until April 20, and the bidding starts at just $1!
