Aside from the alliteration, the syllable count or the similarity in the sound of Tues and twos—I don’t really care because tacos are cheaper on Tuesdays.
And if you’re in the mood for tacos on a Tuesday, then all you’ve got to do is head to one of these fine taco establishments to find the best tacos in Brisbane.
1. California Tacos, West End
After becoming a go-to Mexican joint on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, California Tacos has now opened in Brisbane.
While the neon-lit oasis is known-best for serving up Australia’s biggest nachos, they also serve up mean, saucy tacos worth trying.
Find California Tacos at 120 Boundary St, West End.
2. Cartel del Taco, Hawthorne
One of Brisbane’s newer Mexican joints is Cartel del Taco, and it’s tucked away on the eastside. If you’re a big fan of deliciously good birria tacos, this taqueria has you sorted.
Think slow cooked beef tacos with ancho, guajillo and morita chilli, served with consome, lime, onion and coriander. Yum!
Find Cartel del Taco at 290 Hawthorne Rd, Hawthorne.
3. Maya, Fortitude Valley
If you’d like your Mexican meal paired with a spectacular view of the city, look no further than Maya. Since opening in 2020, this sky-high Ann Street go-to is super popular among locals and visitors, so you might want to book a table a couple of days in advance just so you don’t miss out.
On the menu, you’ll find taco varieties such as chargrilled beetroot, crispy soft shell crab, beer-battered snapper, pork belly, and slow-cooked lamb.
Find Maya at 757 Ann St, Fortitude Valley
4. El Planta, South Brisbane
A Mexican joint with an entirely plant-based menu? Sign us up. El Planta is the perfect spot for vegans and veggos to get their Taco Tuesday fix, where you can choose from taco flavours such as plant based fish, charred oyster mushroom, and slow cooked jackfruit.
Well, that’s the menu for this week anyway. El Planta rotates their menu weekly, so you’ll likely get to try something new every time you visit.
If you want to try a bit of everything, why not opt for the ‘feed me’ banquet, where you’ll get served a selection of starters and tacos for just $37 per person.
Find El Planta at 58 Hope St, South Brisbane.
5. Comuna Cantina, Everton Park and Brisbane City
Comuna Cantina is also about the bright interiors, Insta-worthy cocktails and some of the best tacos in Brisbane. In terms of the tacos, you can expect to find filling such as fish, halloumi, grilled chicken, crumbed cauliflower, pulled pork, and spicy beef.
If Tuesday doesn’t work around your schedule, you can always visit on a weekend and dig into bottomless tacos.
Find Comuna Cantina at 12 Creek St, Brisbane City and 791 Stafford Rd, Everton Park.
6. Baja Modern Mexican, Fortitude Valley
On Tuesdays, Baja Brisbane does epic deals on their tacos. And by that, we mean three tacos for just $20, four for $26, as well $14 margaritas. From 5pm, the crew will be in the kitchen cooking up a variety of tacos as well as charred corn, tostaditas, and more.
This is sure to be popular on a Tuesday night, so we recommend booking a table in advance.

8. Bloodhound Corner Bar, Fortitude Valley
The Mexican soft-corn tortilla tacos found at Bloodhound Corner Bar and Kitchen are good enough to pay full price for, but on Tuesdays you can really tuck in when you can pick up three for $10. There’s beef, pork, chicken and fish to choose from as well as two vegan options. To complement your feed, choose a beer from their extensive range, which you can take home too.
