Roaring back to life for its fifth year, Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside will be once again taking over the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens with an immersive and awe-inspiring curation of artworks that will light up the night.
From Friday May 12 to Sunday May 21, the Botanic Gardens will be transformed into a wonderland for both children and adults alike, illuminated from 5pm – 10pm daily.
Putting a focus on sustainability, the theme this year is ‘Tread Softly’, which the artists have responded to to with their pieces.
Around the gardens, we’ll get to see pieces such as ‘Hills’ by Dan Luo and Weixin Huang, the blue AR dingo installation ‘Ultra-Native Beast Sentinel’ by Keemon Williams, and plenty more.
A full list of artist that will have projections, installations and interactive artworks up:
- Noa Haim and Adriaan de Man
- Phoebe Paradise
- Dan Luo and Weixin Huang
- Theatre of Thunder
- Keemon Williams
- Lyn Haddon
- Mel Robson and Ellis Hutch
There will also be a children’s discovery trail where kids can play hide-and-seek with micro-projections of Australian fauna. On all three nights of both weekends of Botanica — Contemporary Art Outside, DJs, food trucks and a pop-up bar will enhance the atmosphere.
