Roaring back to life for its fifth year, Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside will be once again taking over the Brisbane Botanic Gardens with an immersive and awe-inspiring curation of artworks that will light up the night.
From Friday May 12 to Sunday May 21, the Botanic Gardens will be transformed into a wonderland for both children and adults alike, illuminated from 5pm – 10pm daily.
Putting a focus on sustainability, the theme this year is ‘Tread Softly’, which the artists will respond to with their pieces.
While the full program has not yet been revealed, you can expect to see plenty of interactive workshops and talks in addition to the art, as well as guided twilight walks.
There will also be a children’s discovery trail where kids can play hide-and-seek with micro-projections of Australian fauna. On all three nights of both weekends of Botanica — Contemporary Art Outside, DJs, food trucks and a pop-up bar will enhance the atmosphere.
So far, the artists that will have projections, installations and interactive artworks up are:
- Noa Haim
- Phoebe Paradise
- Theatre of Thunder
- Keemon Williams
