More and more, Queensland and Brisbane, specifically, are becoming the capital of Australian sporting events, and with our city’s biggest tennis tournament coming up — the renowned Brisbane International — we have yet another chance to shine in the spotlight.
From Grand Slam winners and reigning champions returning to rising stars our state will see some of the world’s biggest tennis talents leave it all on the court this summer. The all-star line-up is expected to sell out Pat Rafter Arena in the Queensland Tennis Centre, as over 60,000 tennis fans flock to the event.
For 8 thrilling days, from January 4 to January 11, get ready to drink in the athleticism, the drama and the rivalries that precede and set the tone for the Australian Open.
The rivalry between Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys will definitely bring the heat, as the latter tries to repeat her feat of a Brisbane victory. The court will be sizzling, and there’s no doubt this will be the most exciting Brisbane International yet, even if you’re more of a casual fan.

Minister for Sport Tim Mander underlined the importance of sport and of the venue for Brisbane: “The Brisbane International is always a great occasion where everyone can get together and watch the world’s best players battle it out in the home of Australian sport.
“Pat Rafter Arena is going to play a huge role in the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and events like these give the rest of the world a taste of what to expect when the greatest show on earth comes to Queensland.
“We have an exciting field of players that are competing in the tournament this year, and their performances will inspire the next generation to play sport and emulate their sporting heroes.”
How to get to the Queensland Tennis Centre
As with other major events, if you have a ticket to the Brisbane International, pubic transport is free, and will take you directly to your destination. The main entrance to the venue is on King Arthur Terrace.
Practical information
Brisbane International 2026 will take place from January 4 to January 11. Day Sessions start at 11am, and Night Sessions at 6:30pm.
