It’s time to swap out your disco ball for candles because ABBA is now being played on strings. One of the most beloved bands of all time, the Swedish supergroup’s music spans across the ages and their music is returning for a magical night of melodies with an intimate Candlelight performance at the State Library of Queensland.
The spectacular library will be filled with hundreds of candles and the music of ABBA. You’ll be “having the time of your life” — and you won’t want to miss it! All Chiquititas and pop fans from the ages of eight and up are welcome to lose themselves in the catchy rhythms of ABBA’s hits.
Candlelight Tribute to ABBA
ABBA achieved global recognition in 1974 after winning the Eurovision competition, and for the next decade they released hit after hit. After a successful music career, the group was accepted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 and in 2015, their song “Dancing Queen” was inducted into the Recording Academy’s Grammy Hall of Fame.
During this performance you can groove along to all your favourite ABBA tunes masterfully performed by the Paradiso Strings, a Brisbane-based quartet that performs in state-level orchestras across Australia. You can expect 65 minutes of all the best ABBA hits, including songs like “Mamma Mia!”, “Money, Money, Money” and “Lay All Your Love On Me”. After a few minutes, we can assure you that you’ll be swaying along to the music.
Candlelight invites everyone to relax in an atmospheric setting while being serenaded by an enchanting string quartet. You don’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience!
The concerts have been met by countless 5-star reviews, and guests have called it “a creative, enchanting, and new concert experience.”
Note: For the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
