Fever’s Candlelight concerts have been lighting up stunning Brisbane venues with flickering candles and talented musicians since they first arrived. The series of concerts have grown in number and scale to also include Candlelight Jazz—a selection of candlelit concerts that just hit different.
Brisbane will get to pay ‘Respect’ to the Queen of Soul when Candlelight Jazz illuminates The Lussh. The 100-year-old heritage-listed building in Woolloongabba will host The 8-Tracks for a soulful evening surrounded by hundreds of candles.
It’ll be hard to narrow down a selection of songs from a back catalogue that spans six decades and 18 Grammy awards by the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Candlelight Jazz continues to explore and offer up sensational shows celebrating some of the most iconic singer-songwriters and musicians as well as the genre of music that has had an undeniable effect on music this past century.
Around the world and here in Australia as well, concerts have included tributes to Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Nina Simone as well as performances of songs from Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis and Duke Ellington.
We’re bound to see more of these pop up in the following months but for now, you can get your tickets to the Best of Aretha Franklin at The Lussh, which will recreate the feel of an intimate jazz club for the special shows.
Pay respect to the Queen of Soul with this Candlelight tribute concert.
