The River City is blessed with a tropical climate, and it can feel like a shame to waste nice weather by spending a couple of hours inside a dark theatre. Outdoor cinemas are the answer to cinema and nature lovers’ prayers!
The newest one, Queen’s Wharf’s new Skyline Cinema, offers the chance to see a crowd-pleasing combination of new releases and retro classics, most of them family friendly, every Wednesday. Sitting on the precinct’s Leisure Deck all the way up on level seven, the views can be as absorbing as any film!
For only $10, you get a comfy bean bag to sink into during the movie — at the risk of falling asleep! — and the crucial cup of popcorn and soft drink combo! Settle in at 6pm, and watch something from their exciting lineup, like throwback musical Grease and Aussie favourites The Castle and Red Dog.
For those wanting more snacks or a little something stronger than a fizzy drink there is also a pop-up bar, and if you’re looking for something more filling than popcorn, Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle’s got you. With their tastiest dishes available, such as deluxe seafood pad thai, crispy spring rolls, and caramelised honey pork or peanut satay bowls delivered to your seat, you’ll feel like a VIP. To order, simply follow the link in your booking confirmation email once you have your tickets between 12pm to 5pm on the day of the showing you’re attending.
