Customs House’s igloo bar is back!
It’s this time of year that Brisbane begins to get excited about winter, and after all, you’ve got to celebrate every season in style, right? Well, you can certainly do that at this magical winter-themed bar at the Customs House, on Queens Street, by the water.
The igloo bar is made up of several, spacious igloos, furnished with comfy chairs, covered in gorgeous furry blankets for you to snuggle up to. If that didn’t sound tempting enough, there will be plenty of Veuve Clicquot champagne flowing, and you can buy it by the glass, bottle, or magnum. We know which we’d go for (don’t judge us).
They will also have heaps of fantastic Australian and French wines. If you’re in the mood for a cocktail there’s one that sounds particularly delicious named Berries & Bubbles, containing lemon juice, raspberries, Bombay Sapphire Gin, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, and, of course, Veuve Clicquot champagne. Mmmmmm.
Then there’s the food, and my god does it sounds good. There will be Bay bug brioche rolls with lime mayo, scampi caviar blini with crème frâiche, and a whole baked brie with smoked duck rillettes and crostini. Plus, loads and loads of cheeses from Britain, Australia, and Italy, because obviously, every occasion calls for cheese.
All in all, an igloo for 6 people plus will cost you $80pp, and you can book online. They’re open Thursdays and Fridays 4 pm – 9 pm and on weekends they’re open longer, from 1 pm until 9 pm.
These magical igloos await you at 399 Queen St. Brisbane QLD 4000 and they’re only here for the Winter season.
