Wynnum might just have one of the best kept secrets around: the perfect café for a family day out with the little ones — or simply for all the kidults out there! Coffee n Brick, nestled on the corner of Bay Terrace and Bride Street is an inviting, family-owned nook that offers one unique perk along its excellent brews: LEGO sets to build!
Started thanks to owner Carmen’s passion for coffee, LEGO, and community, Coffee n Bricks is a cosy space, where you can settle in, pick a LEGO kit and get to building as you sip on tea or a strong brew by Wolff Coffee Roasters, and the kids enjoy a babycino or hot chocolate. Once the manual labour of building tires you out, you can refuel with some of their delicious snacks and pastries.
You can build as many sets as you like, at $25 an hour or $15 for a half hour, with many amazing LEGOs to choose from, such as a colourful succulent kit, a magical Harry Potter set and more Disney princesses and vehicles than you can shake a stick at! They also have Duplo sets for the younger crowd at $15 per set.

Everyone must sanitise before they get their hands on some bricks, and each set is carefully cleaned once it’s done being played with, so there’s no need to worry about hygiene.
The café also gives back to the community, participating in initiatives such as Our Shout — started by The Coffee Commune — which invites everyone to add an extra coffee to their order so that, on December 19, first responders including paramedics, firefighters, police, defence personnel, nurses and healthcare workers, and registered volunteers can get a free cup of coffee at participating cafés, as a show of gratitude for their service.
