Presented by Openair Cinemas, you can now watch your favourite Disney+ movie on the big screen.
Rolling into the Northshore Riverfront Event Space in Hamilton, Disney+ and Openair cinemas have teamed up to bring us six nights of Disney movies a week for the next four weeks.
Every night except Tuesday, our favourite characters from across the Disney universe including Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel will take to the big screen. And viewers don’t even have to get out of their car except if they want to go to the kiosk for snacks.
Beginning with Throwback Thursday on September 17, the Disney+ Drive-in kicks off the program with the double-header of The Princess Diaries and the highschool classic 10 Things I Hate About You starring Heath Ledger at just 20 years old.
Fridays will see the Disney Super Fans come out strong with the likes of (the good) Alladin on the first night whereas Sing-a-long Saturdays are going to draw out the singers amongst us. Pixar Sunday is followed by Marvel Monday and the movie week is rounded out with Star Wars Wednesdays. With two movies back to back most nights of the week, there’s pretty much something for everyone. Make sure to check the entire program, which you can do here.
The double-feature combo for two people is priced at $73.74 and for three or more people it will cost $84.51. However, tickets can also be purchased for just the one movie and snacks can be brought in with you so you don’t need to keep on spending your hard-earned cash.
And there’s top news for First Responders as well with all medical workers, paramedics, firefighters, military and police able to score 20% off of their tickets. All they need to do is email email@example.com from their work email or attach a photo ID card. The team at Disney+ Drive-in will then send you a unique code just to say thanks for all the hard work you’ve done.
Disney+ Drive-in shuts up shop and says bye to Brisbane on October 18.
Hurry, there’s still time to catch these free events at the Brisbane Festival.
