Just when we thought this year couldn’t fly by any faster, here comes Easter, ready for all the chocolate-filled fun, coupled with an egg-stra long weekend of course.
In 2025, Easter will take place from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21. However you’re celebrating, here are some of the best things you can do over the long weekend, from month-long activations to one-off events.
1. Eat an array of tasty bites at an Easter-themed high tea
With bites that look almost too good to eat, these high teas in the CBD and South Bank are perfect for elegant, light dining this Easter.
Goldfinch Restaurant’s tea-riffic Easter-themed High Tea, available from Monday, April 14 to Sunday, April 20 will feature delightful bites such as the obligatory fluffy hot cross buns served with whipped butter and jam and topped with raisins or currants, delicate savoury dishes like smoked salmon and caviar and, of course, a rich chocolate bunny for dessert!
Meanwhile, Emporium South Bank’s French dining spot Belle Époque is plating up themed treats like chocolate egg fondue, fresh-baked hot cross buns, a fancy chocolate filled with assorted chocolate truffles, and a festive high tea complete with devilled eggs and a bunny cookie. Emporium’s Easter treats are available from April 3 to April 30.
If you’re looking for something less traditional, but still Easter-y, Bar 1603’s Indigo Īsutā Soirée is perfect for you! With all the usual tasty suspects — hot cross buns and chocolate eggs, of course — Bar 1603’s menu goes way beyond the expected and delivers dishes with a thrilling Japanese twist such as yuzu custard bunny teacups with gold flakes and even a special Easter-themed cocktail, Easter Blossom Bliss, an indulgent Japanese cherry and chili chocolate infused umeshu for the whole month of April.
2. Browse the stalls at an Easter market
Check out the Newport Easter Twilight Market on Easter Saturday, April 19, where you can enjoy a free egg hunt, local entertainment and even a meet & greet with the Easter Bunny!
