There’s nothing worse than feeling like your style is giving “Flowers? For spring? Groundbreaking”. So if you’re feeling like your wardrobe could use a complete makeover or you’re simply looking for a new statement piece, you can’t go wrong with Fashion Thrift Society’s huge selection, which reaches the tens of thousands!
Spanning across three countries and 25 cities, FTS are redefining fashion with community, culture, and creativity, and their first Brisbane event of the year is happening this weekend, April 5 and April 6. You can expect a vibrant mix of independent sellers offering handpicked vintage and pre-loved treasures, alongside renowned local brands you may already know and love. With an emphasis on local and artisanal creations, you’ll be able to find everything from handmade clothing to one-of-a-kind items.
The entry times are staggered, with prices going from high to low, as you risk finding fewer options the later you go, although those aiming for a more chill vibe might prefer that over the morning rush.
If you’re not much of a fashion victim and just want to shop ’til you drop no matter what, or are feeling adventurous and want a more permanent change, their iconic installation bar also features tattoos, piercings, tooth gems, permanent jewellery and henna body art, and hairdressing services such as a barber, styling, blow bar and cuts.
And before you call us materialistic, it’s not all about what you take home! There’s plenty of ways to make unforgettable memories and connect with your community all day long, with a photo booth, tarot and aura readings, a record station, jewellery-making pop ups, and more! All set to the background of DJ sets from the hottest up-and-coming artists and sustained by mouth-watering food trucks and a fun pop-up bar!
