Afternoon tea is getting a glamorous after-hours makeover thanks to The Inchcolm’s High Tea After Dark, an immersive evening experience and Brisbane’s first hotel high tea designed for a night out!
In Brisbane we’re luck to be spoilt for choice when it comes to high teas, but we’d never had one after dark, until now. Taking the tradition in a different direction, High Tea After Dark transforms the occasion into an evening social experience centered around tea-inspired cocktails, theatrical tableside moments and a curated menu of sweet and savoury bites.
On arrival, you will receive a cocktail, flowing with dry ice aromatics, crafted with lemongrass-infused vodka, ginger, butterfly pea and citrus. And then we get to the heart of the evening: a high tea menu reimagined for the night, complemented by a collection cocktails inspired by the flavours, aromas and traditions of tea and coffee, all served with theatrical rituals.
You can choose between coffee- and tea-inspired beverages, with premium tea blends sourced from renowned tea specialists T2. Highlights include The Blooming Garden, a golden jasmine and lychee gin cocktail, finished tableside with edible shimmer, and The Midnight Espresso, a contemporary coffee cocktail served alongside a chocolate truffle.
And then there’s the food. Think share-style bites that celebrate bold flavours and unexpected pairings, like truffled camembert, charcoal scones and smoked macadamia, or a delicate smoked chicken with a nutty sesame shell.
Alison Wearing, General Manager of The Inchcolm, said, “High tea has traditionally been associated with daytime dining, but we saw an opportunity to reinvent the experience for a modern audience.
“High Tea After Dark captures the ritual, indulgence and sense of occasion people love about high tea, while introducing a contemporary twist through creative cocktails and an evening setting.”
Practical information
High Tea After Dark will run every Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm to 9pm, starting Friday, September 4.
The 90-minute experience costs $99 per person and it includes a curated High Tea After Dark menu and two tea- or coffee-inspired cocktails. You can also upgrade to 60 minutes of bottomless Prosecco for an additional $45 pp.
