Ikea Launches Global 24-Hour Virtual Festival Celebrating Life At Home

The first-ever digital Ikea festival is set to take place virtually on September 16.

Retail giant Ikea is gearing up to roll out its very first virtual festival. Well-known music artists, designers, DJs, chefs and more will be turning their homes into virtual stages for the event in a bid to celebrate life from home.

With more and more people working from home, a tangible and persistent fatigue seems to be increasingly setting in. With this virtual festival, Ikea hopes to infuse new energy and excitement for the people who are homebound.

Erika Intiso, Managing Director of IKEA Marketing and Communication said, “We want to spark a conversation on the more sustainable and affordable life at the home of tomorrow. And just as with any festival, you can expect a few surprises.”

Highlights of the festival include home makeovers, intimate concerts and DJ relays with Kaytranada, Loraine James and Zuli to name a few. There will also be food demos with celebrated chefs — The Pasta Queen and Paul Svensson — and home visits with designers like Ilse Crawford and Virgil Abloh.

You will also get a sneak peek at life behind the scenes at Ikea along with livestream gaming sessions. Fans of the home furniture giant can also step back in time and explore the Ikea museum which sheds light on the diverse history of the brand over the years.

Home design inspiration remains at the forefront and the festival will take place in over 100 homes and more than 50 countries around the world.
