Love Wes Anderson’s aesthetic filmmaking and offbeat humour? Now’s your chance to check yourself into The Grand Budapest Hotel again because a Brisbane cinema is doing a special retrospective of his work in celebration of his upcoming release in June. Explore the filmmaker’s cinematic canon before the release of Asteroid City on June 22 at Palace James Street. Dubbed In Focus: Wes Anderson, the recurring screenings will happen every Thursday so you can step it up a notch for your next movie night.

Anderson has crafted some of the most stylistically different movies of our time with his distinct colour pallets, striking symmetries and saturated, pastel hues. His 11th feature film has been classified as a ‘science fiction romantic comedy-drama’ and features a star-studded cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton and more.
From May 4 through to June 15, cinephiles will get a chance to immerse themselves in Anderson’s many whimsical worlds by revisiting some of his best works.
