What if you could buy gorgeous artwork for only $100? And what if the artist behind the piece was a mystery? That is what Incognito Art Show — a not-for-profit organisation supporting Australia artists — does, and it’s coming to Brisbane for the first time ever!
Known as Australia’s biggest art show, Incognito Art Show is not an ordinary art sale; it takes the pretentiousness and elitism that can sometimes accompany the art world, and brings us back to what really matters: how a piece of art makes us feel.
Bringing together over 12,000 original artworks from up-and-coming artists, critically-acclaimed veterans, and everything in between, all of them anonymous, Incognito Art Show strips away the frills and allows you to take home any A5 artwork that calls to you, all of them for just $100. Only once you’ve bought a piece will the artist’s name be revealed on the back of the artwork.
This unique format, which is now in its sixth year of success, provides greater access to art-buying for those without the usual means to do so, and democratises art selection. If that wasn’t enough, all the profits will go towards professional development programs for artists living with disability, such as Access Arts in Brisbane.
If you’re not in Brisbane, don’t worry. You can browse the artworks that will be on sale — conveniently divided into categories like abstract, still life, food, etcetera — and purchase your favourite(s) online from 6pm on the second sale day of each show, with collections in Sydney, Brisbane, and Townsville.

Practical information
Incognito Art Show will take place on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. Saturday will run from 8am to 7pm, and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
Online purchases can be made from 6pm on Sunday.
There is a viewing-only period from Tuesday, July 21 to Friday, July 24 from 10am to 4pm. We do recommend having some idea as to what you want to purchase, as the first sale day gets very busy and pieces are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Browsing will only be allowed once the initial queue on opening day has cleared, around 12pm. If you are planning to show up early enough to queue, you must have a list of the artworks — three maximum on the first day — that you want to purchase.
