Easily one of Brisbane’s most beloved and well-known markets, the excellent Jan Powers Farmers Markets just inaugurated its newest spot at Eagle Farm Racecourse!
The late Jan Power, recognised as a pioneer of farmers markets in Brisbane, spent a good part of her life reshaping how the city shops, eats and gathers, boosting more direct contact between growers and their communities, by launching the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse Farmers Markets.
Now, thanks to that and the Manly Harbour Markets — both operating on Saturdays — her legacy of quality produce and atmospheric gathering places continues. The Eagle Farm venue is just the next natural step, revitalising the area, and extending the influence and importance of farm-to-city connections.
This new Sunday market brings Jan Powers’ signature, carefully curated mix of farm-fresh produce, coffee, flowers, hot and cold food, bakery goods, plants and artisan products to our city’s north side, offering an incomparable weekly shopping and foodie experience in one of Brisbane’s most historic spots.
Set against the backdrop of this gorgeous, open-air venue, Jan Powers Farmers Markets Eagle Farm is the perfect setting to connect with your neighbours and community, as the market comes alive and buzzes with activity.
You can fill your green bags with locally grown fruit and vegetables, quality meat and sustainable seafood, freshly baked bread and pastries presented by local providores and darmers, as musicians play live acoustic music. If that’s not a recipe for the best, most relaxed Sunday morning, we don’t know what is!
With freshly brewed coffee, artisan deli creations, and indulgent sweet treats, there’s no shopping ’til you drop: you can refuel as you go, and make it a whole day affair!
Thanks to the venues spaciousness and friendly vibe, the whole family — including fur babies! — can enjoy this Sunday outing.
