Now in its tenth year running, The Kokoda Challenge is back in South East Queensland this year and they’re calling on locals to participate, raise funds, and help change lives: all through hiking.
How does it all work?
Essentially, you get yourself a team together of those who are keen to tackle the long trails and then register via the Kokoda Challenge website. After registering, each team must raise a minimum amount of funds to participate in the event. The trails you can choose from are located around Brisbane, Gold Coast, and for the first time Sunshine Coast, and range between 18km and 96km. So yeah, definitely not a walk in the park but a tremendous challenge nonetheless. And all for a good cause too!
