If you can’t make it overseas for the Euro summer this year, not to worry; Le Festival will soon be back in town to give you a taste of France without the long-haul flight. And without leaving Brisbane at all.
Taking over South Bank Cultural Forecourt & Parklands from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7, this celebration of all things French has got your weekend rendezvous sorted.
Held for over a decade, Le Festival has become one of the largest French festivals in Australia, having attracted 20,000 attendees in past years. So whether you go every year or you’ve never been and are interested in learning more about French culture, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
If the 2024 event is anything like previous years, you can expect to indulge in plenty of pastries, macarons, baguettes, crepes, and mussels from the variety of food vendors onsite.
To wash it down, plenty of French tipples such as wine, champagne, sparkling and beers will be available, as well as non-alcoholic beverages.
As for entertainment, think live music, can-can dancing and cabaret.
Be sure to browse the market stalls while you’re around, as they’ll be selling everything from French-inspired homewares and gifts to fashion and stationary.
