The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale is coming to the Gold Coast, making its exclusive debut at HOTA in the 2025 Australian tour of the show.
J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved trilogy and its lore have been adapted several times over and in different mediums, and it is now time for it to take to the stage. The production takes fans and soon-to-be-fans of the story on Frodo’s perilous quest across Middle-earth through breathtaking performances, stunning visuals and an unforgettable score.
After rave reviews in the UK and the US, it’s Australia’s turn to join the adventure. As Yarmila Alfonzetti, Heads of Arts and Culture, Experience Gold Coast said, “We’re thrilled to bring such an iconic story to the HOTA stage. Featuring world-class theatrics, this production gives fans a brand-new experience unlike anything they’ve seen before, while musical theatre fans all over the world are falling in love with the score and the story. We’re excited to offer this exclusive opportunity for Queensland.”
The Australian tour will kick off in January 2025, and will simply walk into Queensland from July 4 — just in time for winter school holidays! — to July 20.
The production will star some of Australia’s most acclaimed performers including Jemma Rix as Galadriel, Ian Stenlake as Saruman, Rob Mallett as Strider and Rarmian Newton as Frodo Baggins.
