The internet’s always changing, from AI Overviews to algorithm tweaks, the search results page has become less predictable. But now Google has introduced a new personalization feature that allows you to take control of your top stories feed, and reliably hear from the sites you want to hear from.
The feature, called ‘preferred sources,’ which can be any website or news outlet that you choose to see in Google’s Top Stories. This gives you more of a say over which news outlets are shown more often on your Google feeds!
Once you set a preferred source, you’ll start to see more of that source’s articles in your Top Stories, as long as they have fresh and relevant content related to your interests.
This is the easiest way to ensure you’re getting trusted, hyper-local coverage without needing to search for it manually.
This feature launched in Australia earlier this year, so if you love Secret Brisbane and never want to miss out on our latest story, here’s how to add us to your ‘preferred sources.’
