Meatstock is returning this year with barbecues, butcher wars, bourbon and bull runs planned in Sydney, Melbourne and Toowoomba. Encouraging folks to mingle, explore and dive into Australia’s biggest smokers and barbecues, Meatstock will make its return in the autumn.
Barbecue fans in the city and the country can look forward to two days of debauchery complete with grilling contests, food trucks, live competitions and plenty of beer. The stacked line-up of vendors includes Phat Boyz BBQ, Brisket and Brawn BBQ, Heat Beads Meat Wagon, Smash Burger Society, Hoy Pinoy and many more, so you definitely won’t go hungry.
Like every year, music will be central to the event with a number of exciting country music acts gearing up to put on a show. Queenslanders can look forward to performances by Morgan Evans, Chase Matthew, Bryan Martin, Austin Williams, The Wolfe Brothers, Lane Pittman, Max Jackson, Hayley Jensen, Rachael Fahim, Denvah, Abbie Ferris, Briana Dinsdale, Cholson, and Billie-Jo Porter when they take to the stage.
You’ll be able to walk around the expo, with a slew of interesting stalls, selling everything from sauces, and leather goods to cookware, hats and, of course, high-quality meat!
Plus expect thrilling battles in tournaments like the Beard and Mo Wars — which is exactly what it sounds like — the Spouse Shout, where you and your partner must shout and find each other from a distance, and the Slider Throwdown eating competition.

Practical information
Meatstock will take place in Toowoomba on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. The festival starts from 12pm on Friday, and from 10am on Saturday.
You can register for the BBQ, grilling or butcher competitions on their website. The full program will be released 2 weeks before the event, so keep an eye out for that as well.
Tickets will run you $159.50 per adult for both days, and $89.50 per child. You can also buy single-day tickets, and some events such as tastings and PBR Bull Riding, and camping for the event are paid separately. You can buy all types of tickets here.
