What if we told you you could embark on an adventure through 19th century bohemian Paris and the lush French countryside, without setting foot outside of Brisbane? That’s right. The Monet in Paris experience is making its global debut in Northshore this winter and is now open. But hurry, this mind blowing experience is only here until August 6!
From the moment you step inside the custom-built Grand Palais marquee, you’ll experience 360 degree immersion in the works of the world’s most prominent artists of the Impressionist era. This exhilarating experience showcases a spectacular union of art and technology, projecting iconic paintings on an enormous scale. Dive into Monet’s Water Lilies and pirouette amongst Degas’ ballerinas to admire the finest details of their celebrated brushwork in glorious technicolor.
Designed by theatre designer Anna Cordingley, the Grand Palais marquee is one of the largest portable exhibition spaces in the world. The marquee is divided into five immersive rooms and a SENSORY4™ gallery, each paying homage to one of Monet’s creations. Tapping into the power of light, colour, sound and fragrance, this unique, multi-sensory journey offers a world of discovery and delight for all the family.
Anyone who visited Van Gogh Alive might recognise the visionary behind the Monet in Paris SENSORY4™ gallery as the work of Grande Experiences. Using state-of-the-art technology, the immersive gallery projects paintings with crystal clarity. The surround sound classical score will transport you through bustling Parisian streets to tranquil ponds, exploring the work of other trailblazers along the way. From Camille Pissarro to Paul Cézanne, you’ll experience the bold innovation of modern art in an entirely new dimension.
And the sensory adventure doesn’t end there. When you’re in need of a refreshment, head to the café and treat your tastebuds to a French-inspired menu. Or add a stroke of luxury and upgrade your visit with a decadent High Tea in Paree, which includes three tiers of sweet and savoury treats and a glass of Champagne de Saint-Gall, Premier Cru. You can also enjoy delicious Fever Tree and Never Never Distillery gin and tonics at any of the bars. Santé!
If your French escapades have left you feeling inspired, why not put your own creativity to work? An hour into the experience you can take an interlude in front of the easel and Paint Like Monet. With a paintbrush in one hand and a glass of champagne in the other, your masterpiece will paint itself.
Those who become enamoured with the glittering Parisian salons and vibrant streetlife, can extend their stay at Monet by Moonlight. This fabulous after-hours party commences at the Grand Palais every Friday evening, entertaining guests with art activations sponsored by Mont Marte, DJs, specialty cocktails and so much more.
