Mould: A Cheese Festival is back, and it's bigger than ever.
Say cheese! Australia’s largest cheese festival is coming back over the winter months, taking over Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as Hobart for the very first time. This year, Mould: A Cheese Festival, is promising a delightfully mature and smelly line-up, with over 27 cheese producers to discover. Explore textured and earthy flavours, raw milk varieties and more types of delicious homegrown cheese. There will also be a selection of cheeses, called the Grate Cheese Commission, that will be exclusive to this festival. Mould will take over John Reid Pavilion at Brisbane Showgrounds from July 1 – 3.
This un-brie-lievable cheese festival has delighted Australians since 2017. Presented by Revel, the team behind Pinot Palooza, this festival delivered one million samples of cheese across the three cities last year.
Although the full cheese line-up hasn’t been announced yet, you can expect cheese from the best artisan producers around the country. Pair your cheese with olives, butter and smallgoods, and indulge in cheese-focused dishes from local cheesemongers and chefs.
There will also be plenty to drink from the Mould bar, including Hartshorn Sheep Whey vodka and gin, wine, beer, cider, cocktails and sake.
If you’d like to go deeper, there will also be a series of Cheese Chats, to help you learn more.
This year, the festival will be split into session times across multiple days, to help manage crowds and allow for more personal interactions. These sessions will last for four hours. The festival will take over:
Where: John Reid Pavilion, Brisbane Showgrounds
When: July 1 to 3
Where: The Timber Yard, Port Melbourne
When: July 22 to 24
Where: Carriageworks, Eveleigh
When: August 12 to 13
More details about Hobart will be announced in the future.
