Brisbane’s New Year’s Eve And New Year’s Day Weather Forecast Is Here

You can start planning your New Year's Eve 2025 because the weather forecast is here and it looks like a hot one for Brisbane.

One of the biggest nights of the year is coming up, and we’re all looking to start 2026 with hope and fireworkds. After a few weeks of storms, the weather has started clearing up, and it looks like we’ll get to end the year on a high note with a pleasantly warm New Year’s Eve this year, according to several reliable sources’ long-range forecast, including the Bureau of Meteorology and AccuWeather.

These predictions are based on many factors, including the storms that have swept through Queensland recently. Here’s what to expect from the weather forecast in Brisbane and other major Australian cities on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Brisbane

Brisbane is set to get a sunny day with sweltering 35-degree temps on New Year’s Eve and, fortunately, it looks like we’ll be able to remain dry! The temperatures will only drop to 22 degrees in the evening so we can all enjoy being out late into the night. New Year’s Day is predicted to have similar weather, though a bit less hot and with a slight chance of rain, which might be a welcome respite after the day before.

Sydney

Sydneysiders will be looking at a cloudy but warm New Year’s Eve, around 28º at its hottest, which makes for a pleasant final temperature of the year. New Year’s Day, on the other hand, is expected to be a bit cooler, and you can expect showers. Sydney weather is known to have a mind of its own so make sure you keep an eye on the forecast for updates.

Melbourne

Melbourne will get a chilly and rainy New Year’s Eve, with temperatures expected to sit at around 19 degrees, and some showers expected. Things will heat up a tiny bit by New Year’s Day with a 22-degree, but unfortunately the rain is likely to continue.

Adelaide

Adelaide will be blessed with a somewhat cloudy but pleasantly warm New Year’s Eve, with highs of 23 degrees, with the skies remaining cloudy on New Year’s Day, but temperatures climbing to 26º.

Perth

Perth will have a boiling New Year’s Eve with highs of 35º, with a somewhat cloudier and less warm New Year’s Day.
