Outside The Box, the unique New Farm gift boutique, got its start thanks to founder Kazz’s commitment to creativity and art: “Every piece we create is a love letter to creativity — made to spark joy, inspire your day, and bring a little magic to your everyday moments.”
The belief that creativity shouldn’t have gatekeepers has been the guiding principle behind Outside The Box. Now, that belief has been made physical with The Art & Craft Café, a space where there are no templates to follow, no right or wrong answers, and absolutely no pressure to produce something perfect.
That philosophy shows in every detail of the format: no class times to work around, and no minimum skill level required.
The Art & Craft Café is a drop-in creative experience inside the boutique itself that invites you to enjoy a particular type of afternoon that most of us don’t get enough of: the kind when we slow down, pick up a brush, and create something!
It’s as simple as walking in, choosing an activity from their menu, and creating entirely at your own pace. Every activity is designed for any level of skill, including beginners, and every one produces something unique that you get to take home with you.
So whether you’re there on a solo date, a romantic date, spending time with the family or had simply dropped by for one of their mouth-watering gluten-free treats (baked fresh by Gluten Free 4 U) and coffee, you’ll come out with a one-of-a-kind memento of a unique afternoon.

The boutique’s current menu features some of the following activities to choose from:
- Paint Your Bag: available in two sizes.
- Make Your Own Cards: handmade greeting cards using watercolours, papers, ribbons and embellishments.

If you would like a little more direction, The Art & Craft Café runs guided creative sessions every Saturday afternoon from 1pm. Bookings are required and you can make yours here.
The Art & Craft Café is open on Mondays from 9am to 5pm, Wednesday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm.
