If you’re a foodie who eats free of gluten and dairy, this is one new venue you’ll want to check out. Project Salubrious has just recently opened up in Burpengary on the northside, and they’re serving up health-conscious plates that’ll bring your brunch date to the next level.
The brand-new café is led by local chef Kurtis Lovell, whose experience lies in both European Michelin-starred restaurants and iconic local kitchens. Get ready to tantalise those taste buds.
On the breakfast menu, you can choose from tasty delights such as apple and cinnamon tempura fritters, grilled chorizo rosti, and a breakfast pizza made with bacon jam, mushroom and avo, as well as baked and poached eggs.
Then for lunch, think buckwheat risotto, braised lamb & fig, pear & prosciutto tart, snapper Thai curry, pork saltimbocca, sticky beef short rib, and a tempura chicken burger.
Not only are the meals free from gluten and dairy though – but they also have no grains or refined sugar, all of which coincide with Lovell’s own food philosophy.
“We’re just excited for people to come in and experience dining out as it should be,” Lovell says. “Enjoying a satisfying meal made from vibrant, local, from-scratch ingredients, and without feeling bloated at the end. We want to share that ‘good different’ feeling’.”
Project Salubrious is open from Tuesday till Friday for breakfast and lunch. Word on the street is that weekend trade is coming soon, but until then, you’ll have to try it on a weekday.
