QAGOMA’s most anticipated market of the year is almost here, and it’ll take you on a journey through the mysterious magic of winter. This July, head down to Brisbane’s artsiest precinct for an evening of fantastic handcrafted treasures and unique stories.
Immerse yourself in a lively day of discovery and celebrate the creativity of talented local artists and makers offering a wide range of ceramics, jewellery, homewares, clothing, stationery and home décor.
It may be chilly outside, but the market will be held in the Gallery of Modern Art Forecourt with all stalls undercover, making it a warm and welcoming winter outing for the whole family. And we mean the whole family: dogs on leashes are welcome!
Let the handmade goodies call to you lead you down a path to 80 stalls bursting with Brisbane’s best artisan finds. You’ll be spoiled for choice from the slew of local finds, unique gifts, and something special for every kind of market lover!

But that’s not all! On that same weekend, the Queensland Art Gallery Drawing Festival returns with an all-new program including over 50 free events for all ages and skill levels!
Expanded to two days due to popular demand, the festival is designed to spark or rekindle your love of drawing, whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or are a seasoned sketcher.
Across the weekend, you can choose take part in artist-led workshops, drop into relaxed sketching sessions, enjoy live music performances, and even hang your own masterpiece in the People’s Gallery. No prior drawing experience is needed, all materials are provided, and the program is designed to be accessible for all ages and skill levels!

Practical information
The QAGOMA Winter Design Market will take place on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 16 from 9am to 4pm, and the Queensland Art Gallery Drawing Festival will happen on the same days, from 10am to 5pm.
