Che, Brisbane! San Telmo is bringing a much-anticipated taste of Argentina to our lovely city! Having made their name in Melbourne as one of the city’s most beloved steakhouses, the culinary geniuses behind San Telmo are ready to bring the heat, the tango and the red wine to Edward Street!
Featuring their signature open parrilla and premium beef, this will be the first San Telmo in Brisbane. As Ben Robinson, Director & Opening Restaurant Manager shares, “Brisbane felt like the natural next step for San Telmo. The city’s dining scene has incredible energy right now, and there’s a real appetite for restaurants that offer not just a great meal, but a full experience. We’re excited to bring the warmth, theatre and generosity of San Telmo to Edward Street.”
Its inviting façade, with a gorgeous timber door sourced directly from Argentina, will immediately transport you to the old-world dining rooms and Art Deco entries of Buenos Aires. At the heart of if all is San Telmo’s custom charcoal parrilla, sitting open to the dining room and bringing the theatre of live-fire cooking front and centre. If you’re lucky enough to snag one of the ten seats positioned close to the kitchen, you’ll get a direct view of the chefs at work

Leading the kitchen is Head Chef Mikey Dalton, of San Telmo Melbourne fame, who explained about the restaurant’s offering: “This is food made for sharing. It’s generous, fire-led and full of flavour. We want guests to feel like they’ve stepped into the rhythm of an Argentinian table — great beef, great wine, and a room with real energy.
The menu is a lively expression of the Argentinian asado tradition: generous, unhurried and built around the fire. It’s all sharing and combining dishes across the table, and indulging in mouth-watering premium cuts like eye fillet, bone-in sirloin, ribeye and inside skirt, alongside rotating dry-aged specials from their own chamber.
When it comes to drinks, the stars will be the exclusive imported Argentinian wines, including Mendoza Malbecs and Patagonian Pinots not available elsewhere in the country, as well as som good Aussie representation. If you’re looking for a little something special, they will also offer Fernet-Branca, Quilmes, mate and imported vermouths.
For those with a sweet tooth, San Telmo’s celebrated flan will also make its Queensland debut, joined by alfajores, chocolate mousse, pavlova with mate-inspired notes and panqueques.
