Rooftop bars are god-tier when it comes to dining in Brisbane — there’s something about enjoying a bite and a tipple with a dramatic backdrop of the city skyline that hits differently. Kangaroo Point has scored a stunning new rooftop oasis inspired by the desert, and it’s giving Palm Springs vibes. Sunsets is opening in late August, so start gathering the gang for sky-high cocktails.
The rooftop bar boasts views of both the city skyline and the Gabba, and it’s fitted out with gold, white and cream hues, as well as a cactus garden and olive trees to complete the desert look.
When it comes to food, think Mediterranean-inspired eats such as grilled tiger prawns, lamb shoulder, baked brie, fried cauliflower, Portuguese custard tarts and more, all designed to share.
Wash it down with refreshing tequila-based cocktails like coconut margaritas and patron palomas.
The 100-seat venue has a variety of seating around the edges of the rooftop — couches, tables and benches — to maximise the viewing spots.
Imagine this: your marg has just arrived at your table just as golden hour works its magic on the skyline. You’ll be able to turn this scenario into a reality quite soon too.
Sunsets is officially open to the public on Thursday, August 24.
You can book a table via their website.
Opening hours: Thursday to Sunday from 11am – 10pm
Location: 95 Linton Street, Kangaroo Point
