If you thought you knew Banksy, think again. The Art of Banksy: Chapter 2 invites you into a brand-new, more immersive, unprecedented journey through the work of the world’s most elusive artist, one that dwarfs the original exhibition in scale, ambition, and emotional impact. Featuring over 300 artworks (including 100+ originals) and spanning 1,550 sqm (twice the size of the 2023 edition), this expanded narrative reframes Banksy not just as an icon of rebellion, but as a living, evolving legend whose critique of society grows sharper with every passing year. And to celebrate the New Year and a new chapter of Banksy in Brisbane, you can grab the Duo Pass – which nets you entry for two people – at just $29 per person, for a limited time only.

This new chapter showcases a remarkable suite of installations that reveal Banksy’s darker humour and sharper political edge. A standout piece is Cinderella’s Carriage from Dismaland, an overturned pumpkin carriage lit by relentless paparazzi flashes that comments on media exploitation and the commodification of tragedy. Sirens of the Lambs also roars into the exhibition. This squealing slaughter-truck filled with plush animals toured New York, confronting the invisibility of animal suffering in our food systems. Nearby, the kinetic Grim Reaper bumper-car loops endlessly to the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive,” its eerie humour daring audiences to consider how easily we laugh off mortality even as it circles us. Equally as haunting is the Sad Tweety animatronic, featherless, bruised, and slumped in a cage, turning childhood nostalgia into a stark reflection on captivity and cruelty.
Chapter 2 also ventures into Banksy’s lesser-seen creative experiments, including the mirror-lined Infinity Room – Studio 54, an immersive space exploring his collaborations with musicians and featuring a special film that delves into his artistic process. The exhibit recreates Banksy’s provocative Central Park Art Sale, where original canvases were sold for $60 to unsuspecting passersby, probing the absurdity of art-world value systems and the meaning of authenticity. Completing the collection is the playful yet pointed Sphinx of Giza, a 1/36-scale replica built from cinder blocks, originally placed in a random New York lot to challenge our reverence for ancient relics and remind us that monuments are born from the ordinary.

The original Art of Banksy: Without Limits was a landmark global event, but Chapter 2 blows it open, offering a deeper, richer, and more varied look at the artist’s evolution. Where the first exhibit focused on familiar classics, Chapter 2 reveals never-before-seen installations, updated works, and rare pieces that expose entirely new layers of Banksy’s creative world. Visitors have already praised the experience as offering “great insight into this talented man. It was great to see the videos of Banksy himself speaking and explaining why his art is the way it is.” They’ve also commented, “This exhibition was very interesting and evocative. We thought we’d seen most of his work, but no, there was so much more.”
With three times more artworks, a vastly expanded space, and an unprecedented collection, The Art of Banksy: Chapter 2 is not just an update, it’s the definitive Banksy experience. Get your tickets and experience the legend as you’ve never seen him before.
