There’s nothing quite like celebrating with a glass of bubbly, but what about raising a glass to… raising a glass? A celebration of celebrations, The Bubbles Festival is coming to Brisbane, and it is the perfect way to toast to mum on Mother’s Day!
Organised by The Bubbles Review, a multi-award-winning blog and website devoted to
the enjoyment of drinking champagne and sparkling wine by Melbourne
entrepreneur and international best-selling author Natalie Pickett, The Bubbles Festival has been a staple of Oz’s events calendar since 2021.
With a stunning tasting list that varies per year and per city, the fête features Aussie sparklings from all over the country, as well as international sparklings, including, of course, champagne.
And if this is your first time going, don’t worry: every year they showcase favourites from previous years along with the new bubbly discoveries, so you can catch up on everything going on in the sparkling wine world.
What to expect
Each ticket includes a two-hour tasting session, with a chance to meet and engage with producers and distributors of sparkling wine and champagne, and enjoy all the bubblies, paired with canapés.
It also gives you the chance to attend an introduction to tasting appreciation by none other than Natalie Pickett, the Founder of The Bubbles Review.
A RIEDEL Champagne tasting glass is given to every attendee, along with a curated list of 10 or more tastings of sparkling wine, which are provided along with canapés and tasting notes. If that’s not enough, there are bubbly giveaways throughout the event, as well as sparkling wines available for purchase, for those who find a new bubbly love.
Practical information
The Bubbles Festival will take place on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.
Friday will have one tasting session from 6pm to 8pm, and Saturday offers a choice between two: one at 12pm, the other at 3pm.
Regular tickets at $139 per person, and for an additional $75 you can upgrade to VIP, which includes priority access with a private tasting of a special cuvée and a Crystal Champagne glass Twin pack.
