Calling all seafood lovers! Howard Smith Wharves is hosting The Great Seafood Feast across its Main Lawn and surrounding spaces!
The chef-led experience — it will be spearheaded by chef Danielle Alvarez — the event brings together fresh local seafood, seasonal produce and a chill weekend vibe against the backdrop of Brisbane’s iconic riverside.
What to expect
You don’t have to be a shellfish lover to enjoy this event; if classic Queensland seaside rituals like fish and chips by the water, long lunches and easy afternoons by the river are your thing, this experience is for you, too!
But, of course, the star of the show is the seafood. From freshly shucked oysters and tartare to grilled tropical Queensland lobster tail, potato scallops and classic fish and chips, the menu balances elevated coastal dining with nostalgic seaside favourites.
Add to that some crisp white wines, bright seasonal cocktails and ice cold beers — including the Felons Super Cold Crisp Lager, poured at sub zero temperatures — and you get a perfect day with all the charm and vitality of the seaside, without the risk of getting sand everywhere!
If you are a romantic and only want the freshest of the fresh, CIAO garden will have a dedicated oyster bar with a vibrat cocktail offering. Think freshly shucked oysters served to order, paired with a seasonal cocktail program curated by Ed Loveday, designed to complement both your palate and your eyes.
Want to burn off some of the calores? A pop-up pickle ball court will bring a playful, possibly competitive edge to the experience, so you can jump in for a quick round between prawns.
