Don your apron and chef’s hat, Brisbane foodies: renowned chef and culinary storyteller Yotam Ottolenghi is coming to the River City on February 17!
Join him for an unforgettable night of philosophy, flavour and gastronomical adventure in An Evening with Yotam Ottolenghi.
The Jerusalem-born chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu in London before opening his first deli in the UK back in 2002, with a strong focus from the beginning of his career on fresh produce, bold Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours, and inventive combinations.
In fact, Ottolenghi is widely considered a trailblazer and credited with bringing lesser-known or somewhat uncommon ingredients like za’atar, tahini and rosewater into day-to-day homecooking all over the world, and often adds an unexpected twist to tried and true classics, such as his take on Lamingtons, which features mango as the star ingredient!
At this appearance you’ll get to watch him cook live on stage, but this is not just any old cooking demo, it’s a full-on immersive experience! As he shows his mastery of the kitchen, Ottolenghi will intertwine stories of his favourite dishes, kitchen secrets, and the inspirations that have shaped his iconic recipes, spanning continents and cultures, and bringing us all together around the table.
The chef will be joined by award-winning author and broadcaster Alice Zaslavsky, who will be directing the flow of the conversation and allowing space for Ottolenghi to share his expert insights into the way flavour works, how to pair them, and how to level up your cooking.
