Beloved veggie-forward restaurant ZA ZA TA sadly closed its doors last year, but some of us still dream of their flavourful Middle Eastern dishes. Well, there’s light at the end of the tunnel for those of us who haven’t let go, because for one night only, Ovolo Brisbane is bringing A Night of ZA ZA TA’s Greatest Hits!
Taking place on Saturday, February 14 from 6pm, the event will take place in The Observatory — formerly home to ZA ZA TA, so it’ll truly feel like the old days — setting the scene for an evening that leans into nostalgia while still feeling unmistakably current.
The cult-favourite eatery and its Head Chef Kya Knights will be delivering a four-course, veg-led Middle Eastern menu that revisits fan favourites and team classics from across the years. Expect bold spice, generous plates made for sharing, with dishes that we still talk about long after we said “ta ta!”.
The menu moves from playful starters such as halloumi doughnuts and shareable bites like their stone-baked za’atar flatbread and old-school hummus, through richly spiced mains — think black lentil and shiitake dumplings or green wheat tabbouleh — before finishing on a sweet note. And believe us, you’ll want to save room for dessert, with mouth-watering options like rosewater Turkish delight, Medjool date stuffed with chocolate and almond, and more!
For those looking to elevate the experience even further, a paired beverage offering will be available for an additional $65 per person. And because ZA ZA TA always went big, to mark the occasion, there’ll also be a special take-home gift!

A Night of ZA ZA TA’s Greatest Hits will take place on Saturday, February 14 from 6pm.
