Fur Mums, get ready for a very special event! The Brisbane Women-Only Dog Club is holding a Pupcake & Sip event that will connect women all over the city with like-minded dog owners.
Founded by Angel Oliver, whose own Golden Retriever Bentley serves as accredited psychiatric service dog, the new community initiative seeks to connect dog-owning women across generations. This is exemplified by the rest of the team behind the event, as she works in partnership with pet baker Adara Tavares (Woof Choi Kee) and venue host and interior designer Holly Bambrige (The Shed).
Together, the team represents Gen Z, Millennial, and Gen X, united by a shared belief that dogs play an essential role in women’s wellness, companionship, and support.
As Oliver puts it, “For many people, a dog isn’t just a pet on the side of life—they are a vital support system and an absolute core member of the family,” says Oliver. “There are traditional parents’ groups on almost every corner, but very few spaces designed specifically for women whose primary family members happen to have four legs. Whether women are child-free by choice or circumstance, we wanted to build a supportive community where that connection is celebrated.”
The debut launch event, Pupcake & Sip, will combine human socialising with pet enrichment. You’ll get to participate in a dog-safe cupcake decorating workshop — customising the treats to look like your own special boy or girl — while enjoying boutique wines and charcuterie. Fur babies will also be greeted with a ‘pup martini’, and will be able to enjoy a dog enrichment park with professional dog nannies, while you’re busy socialising and creating your masterpiece.
You’ll leave with 4 custom cupcakes, a curated dog goodie bag and, best of all, new friends!
Practical information
The inaugural Pupcake & Sip event will take place on Sunday, September 20 at 11am.
Tickets start at $149 and $10 from every ticket goes to the RSPCA to help fight animal cruelty. You can get yours here.
We recommend booking soon, as the event is capped at 25 guests and 15 dogs (only one dog per person).
