Taking place at the Belmont Shooting Complex on Saturday, November 1, the Tropical Foliage Festival is bringing together a whole heap of tropical plant growers in one space. You’ll be able to buy as many beautiful foliage plants as you can carry, get advice, and see demos among a whole heap of other things going on.
The Tropical Foilage Festival has come a long way since its humble beginnings when a number of members helped Trevor Crawford prepare his garden for a big plant sale event. That same year, the Bromeliad Society of Queensland, The Palm & Cycad Society of Southeast Queensland and Brisbane Heliconias got in on the act as well and joined the sale with all their specialist plants. It has only grown since, and is now celebrating its 25th anniversary!
Since then, the community has grown and spread and this year’s event is looking to be a bumper festival with new releases, rare plants and old favourites offering the best quality cordylines, bromeliads, gingers, costas, heliconias, orchids, palms, Aroids and much more coming from all around the state. This year’s event will also be catered and will have a plant minding area.
So whether you’re a plant newb or a seasoned green thumb, we’re pretty confident that you’ll be going home with some pretty special tropical plants.
