Get your scare on with the 19th annual Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Trail and Festival!
For one wonderfully weird and spooky weekend the Mountain’s famously scenic trails are flooded with hay denizens, dressed to the nines and ready to scare!
It’s a glorious outdoor sculpture show, with locals, families, and everyone in between creating scarecrows ranging from the traditional to the clever, colourful and completely bonkers. The Spot the Scarecrow Discovery Trail is like one big scarecrow treasure hunt, as you try to spot every single one on the trail!
Plus, depending on how seriously you want to take it, for those with a competitive streak, there are categories you can try to stand out in, including Creative, Traditional, Business, Family, Child, Celebrity and even First Time in Field, culminating in the coveted Best in Show!

And although the scarecrows are the highlight of the festival, they are by no means all there is to see! Cauldron Distillery will be hosting some liverly festivities, with a full and fantastic afternoon of live entertainment from local bands Haystack Mountain Hermits, The Good Ones, The Shenzo Gregorio Quartet featuring vocalist Melissa Western, and Shanon Watson Band.
Little ones will love the face painting, the scarecrow-making tent, the Northview Highland cows, sheep, and pygmy goats, the pig racing, and the scavenger hunt. There will also be plenty of food trucks and market stalls, and of course, a roving scarecrow on stilts. Bring a picnic chair or blanket, find a spot on the grass and enjoy a spooky and cosy afternoon!
